Shell We Dance? transforms egg and shellfish waste into sustainable building materials, addressing construction waste and carbon emissions. Inspired by natural shell structures, the project developed moldable components and a complementary adhesive infused with living bacteria to enhance structural capacity. Mechanical testing of the material was conducted by Texas A&M’s Mechanical Engineering department, ensuring its performance and durability. The project was recognized with the Outstanding Science Award at the Biodesign Challenge.
